Encouragement, General Post, Patience, Trust In God

Happy Valentine’s Day

I know I am a day early, but I felt the urge to come and encourage you. If you’re anything like me you don’t have a significant other that will be coming over tomorrow to treat you to a nice evening. Instead, you’ll be forced to watch someone else’s children while they enjoy the evening being treated like the king and queen they are. You won’t have the luxury of a secular gift coming from anyone…the list could go on.

My hope is that you’ll find joy in the One who sees you when you come and when you go. He loves you with an everlasting love and would love to spend the evening with you. Don’t get caught up in the random thoughts that no one loves you or you’ll never have anyone. Your time is coming. God just wants you to Himself. He’s a jealous God and would love to spend time with you unbothered!

Get your kids in there with you. Read some love stories from God. Such as the one when the Prodigal Son returns home and the Father throws a party (Luke 15:11-32); or when the Shepherd lost his ONE sheep and went and looked for it (Luke 15:1-7). Or how about the one story that says, “God so loved [your name here] that He sent His only begotten Son” to die on the cross for our sins. (John 3:16)

I pray that on tomorrow you will find joy in the midst of your journey. Be happy for others as they celebrate their love stories with one another. And take joy in the love story you’re building with your Creator. For you are His and He is yours…

Jeremiah 31:3 – “The LORD appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued faithfulness to you.”

  1. Love this!!! And the hubs and I rarely celebrate Valentine’s Day anymore so I’ll be at home like everyone else. 😂 Ultimately we learn that God is all the love we need.
