Psalm 139:13-16 “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”

There is a thirst and a hunger that we  are so desperately desiring. We have a void on the inside of us that we aren’t connecting with. We’re trying the world at every nook and cranny, and we still can’t fill the void.

Truth be told, it’s not in the world. It never will be. God placed that void in us. He said He would do it. In Jeremiah 31:33 He says, “But with this new covenant I will make with the people of Israel (ALL FUTURE GENERATIONS) on that day…I will put my instructions deep within them, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My people.” We are His creation. Genesis 1:27 says “So God created human beings in His own image. In the image of God He created them; male and female.”

God created the universe, the only one of its kind. It wasn’t recycled. And neither were we! He created us in His image. We are shaped and formed like Him. I can’t look like you and you can’t look like me. We can favor, but our Creator makes all things new! New conditions and new circumstances.

And anything new comes with what? INSTRUCTIONS!!! Instructions are a direction or order. They give detailed information telling how something should be done, operated, or assembled. So…if God is our Creator, and He said He’ll put His instructions deep within us; then how do I go to fill this void? This empty space on the inside of me. Well…

#1 – Accept that the world can’t touch that empty place on the inside of us! The world didn’t put it there, the Creator of the world did! There is no substitute that can fulfill that void. Any substitute is temporary: shopping with no spending limit, illegal substances, boyfriends, etc.

These all run out eventually, and what’s left…that empty place! Jesus says in John 15:5, “Yes I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.” The vine is a support between the branch and the tree. Without the vine the branch has a tendency to become weak, or too “heavy” to hold on. Therefore it breaks, but thank God for the vine. Not the entertainment network where videos and personalities get really big, really fast (That’s temporary!) But the vine of life…JESUS!!!

#2 – Accept that God has the answers to fill our void. The Lord told Jeremiah in chapter 1, verse 5, “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.”

People can put together assumptions of who they think we are, but their assumptions are still incomplete, or empty! The Lord knows us completely. People see us when we fail, when we win, and when we mess up. But since we are connected to the vine, God sees us for who He created us to be. When we fail, we still have victory in His sight (because we’ve accepted His son as our Lord and Savior). When we win, He sees even more victories to come. And when we mess up, He forgives us and holds us even tighter; loving us to give us the strength to keep going, and to try again! God knows who we are. He never sleeps, gets tired, or grows weak! He’s not affected by our circumstance!

#3 – Believe He can fulfill the void.

Jesus said in John 4:14, “…those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them giving them eternal life.” In my mind, I envision that bubbling spring flowing through me. Let’s close our eyes and think about that bubbling spring moving about inside of us!

We know water right…! We’ve learned in Science class that water is a liquid. And liquid conforms (MATCHES, FITS) to the shape of its container. It has definite volume, but no fixed shape! So, your bubbling spring won’t look like my bubbling spring. And my bubbling spring won’t look like your bubbling spring.

Jesus is saying that for those who drink the living water – the “life rain”, He has to offer will have a bubbling spring on the inside of them. It will be an overflow of an irrepressible positive feeling. (Side Note: Springs are natural bodies of water! Not man made, but springs come forth through the earth)

In conclusion, The LORD wants me to tell you:

“He does not need help reaching the inner parts of what He created inside of you. That void can only be reached by the living water of Jesus. That living water can touch every nook and cranny. Every hurt and pain. Every hurt from rejection. Every hurt from disappointment. Every feeling of being incapable or not good enough. God says, ‘I have knit you together in your mother’s womb. I made you wonderfully complex. How marvelous, incomparable, outstanding, and extraordinary are my works. I can examine your heart. The tactics of the enemy can’t do that. I know when you sit down and when you stand up. I know your thoughts. When you’re coming and going. Allow Me to fulfill your thirst, that hunger on the inside of you. Let Me in.’ God says, ‘Let Me in. Choose Me. I am the door waiting for you to knock and the door will be opened …I AM waiting for you to come to ME…”
