“For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.”
2 Corinthians 2:15
Hello beautiful! Yes. You, who are reading this post at this very moment. I want you to know that you are beautiful. You truly are! The fact that you are reading this post…right there. RIGHT NOW. You are beautiful. Why do I say that? What do I mean?
#TheBeautyOfYou is what should’ve killed you, God blocked it because there is more for you to do. How do I know? Well, have you ever heard of the Sinful Woman, in Luke 7:36-50, that was hurt and full of shame. The disciples and citizens of the town spoke against her. I’m pretty sure that made her feel like an outcast. But through all of that she survived the critics in the crowd, the gossipers, and the other “church folks”. I am GODfident to bet that as she found her way to where Jesus was she slowly and surely gained some strength. Single mother, I bet you’ve been making it through even though others said you wouldn’t. You keep fighting day in and day out to be the best you can be. You hear what they say about you, or even what they don’t, and you keep pushing. We keep pushing! You don’t stop and that makes you strong.
#TheBeautyOfYou is that you’re stronger than your yesterday. She made her way to Jesus. She left her sinful life behind her. No matter what she may have been connected to! She made her way to Jesus’ feet and was able to release what she had been holding on to. That took some courage! It’s not easy when others know your history and speak against you. It’s not easy letting go of that comfortable lifestyle because that’s all you’re accustomed to. But God! God accepted her, you, and me just as we were. He took her shame and hid it, as she wept behind Him at His feet. She poured herself out through her tears, and Jesus began to renew her strength. There are days when we, as single mothers, have to fight through the judgement and abandonment of this world. And we don’t fight physically because we don’t have the strength, nor power. We fight with our tears, and Jesus takes up for us supernaturally. He hides our weakness, shame, and fears and restores our strength because we belong to Him.
#TheBeautyOfYou is you belong to Christ and have become a new creature. Your old life is gone; a new life has begun (1 Cor. 5:17). Hallelujah! Jesus forgave her sins and gave her the blessings to live a new life (Ephesians 2:10). He didn’t care about those who spoke against her, or Him. He took the judgement that others had in regards to who she was. Single mother, in-spite of our past life, we are new creatures. God has equipped us to fulfill a plan that He predestined for us long ago. We are beautiful in His site and it does not matter what others have to say about us. People, in their human nature, call us by our sin. But The Lord calls us by our name. I pray that we walk in the fullness there of:
Lord, I thank you right now for being who You are. God I thank you for being the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings. Lord I thank you for being the Creator and Controller of our lives. God, I pray as we seek Your kingdom and set our sights on things above; Lord I pray that You help us to lay our pain, sins, and fears at Your feet. Lord, I pray that You renew our strength as we come before Your presence as transparent as we know how. God, show us Your glory and equip us to do the great work that You planned for us long ago. God, I pray against the enemy as he will try to distract and devour us to be unfit for the calling…but Lord, You are bigger than anything that he tries to throw our way. Use us where we are Father. We praise You and give You all the glory and honor. It’s in Your Son Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
